Steering Committee
The steering committee is composed of five representatives from member organizations and at least two community members. These members have the most time and energy to invest and are integral to the development of the Network. The PCGN is dedicated to finding a means to support the involvement of individual community members by providing honorariums and other necessary supports. In order to ensure that the steering committee is inclusive and open to new members, an official yearly review of its membership will take place in conjunction with the mid-winter event.
The steering committee is responsible for creating open dialogue amongst the PCGN and with the wider community. By gathering input from Network members at gatherings and meetings, through surveys, email and conversation, they are able to make informed decisions on behalf of the overall Network. The steering committee works within the principles of the PCGN and is responsible for ensuring cooperation and consensus, and working towards conflict transformation where required.
The steering committee is responsible for scheduling and holding a monthly meeting, a minimum of two annual gatherings, and ensuring that four additional informal meetings of the PCGN membership take place each year.
In conjunction with staff the steering committee is responsible for exploring a variety of opportunities in order to secure reliable and secure long-term funding for the PCGN. Each member of the steering committee is required to be an active member of one of the working groups.
