Cameron St. Community Garden
In conjunction with the PCGN, the City of Peterborough & a group of enthusiastic group of gardeners, a new garden was ploughed last week ...
The Cameron St. Community Garden is already got lots of things planted and is growing along great!

Lakefield Youth Unlimited Canoe Gardens!
Lakefield Youth Unlimited started a few years ago growing salad greens for a local restaurant and farmers market to learn life skills and raise funds for local youth activities and projects. Check out their innovative use of canoes to expand their salad gardens! If you happen to have an old canoe- this is a very cool way to put it to good use.

Kawartha Heights Public School Ecology Garden
Ahhhh, it is the second last day of school and the students can hardly contain their excitement for summer holidays! Mr. Love's senior kindergarten class released their tadpoles into the pond located in their ecology garden at the back of the school. This is a beautiful natural space , lush with native plants, flowers and trees. The school Garden Club works tirelessly with volunteers through the school year to create a space which attracts abundant wildlife.

Cucumber Beetle Infestation

Have you noticed an abundance of yellow & black beetles flying around and nesting on your cucumber plants? Lots of holes, netting & slow growth (or death) of your cucumber, winter & summer squash, melon, pumpkin or gourd plants? You probably have a cucumber beetle infestation!
