Next Stop - John Howard Society Youth Garden

 these are before shots taken just a few months ago. there was one garden there already that was used last season, but they were hoping to expand to three 



 Here are some shots of the newly built up gardening beds soon to be full of wonderful produce! 
 The group used a 'lasagna gardening' technique in which cardboard was laid down and then covered with alternating layers of straw, soil, and nutrient rich compost. You can see the straw poking through in the shot below

 Little tomatoes and peppers have already been planted in the new front bed
There is also a woodshop & carpentry youth program that built these fabulous structures for beans, cucumbers and squash to grow vertically onto. Can't wait to see the bean/squash walls develop!
