Workshop "Get Your Compost Together" at the OSEE Conference
Peter Hughes and Marcy Adzich from the PCGN and Fleming College presented an interactive case study of 2 local Peterborough Schools in which the workshop participants were grouped together to create a School Garden Task Force. Each group was given less than an hour to create a 1 year Action Plan- including a detailed map of a proposed garden, a fundraiser idea and to utilize a mock $500 school grant to use in one year. Each participant also had to play a stereotypical "role" of a community or school member in this project.
The workshop focused in on school garden sustainability through Community Leadership and the core competencies of Framing Ideas, Building Social Capital and Mobilizing Resources.

www.lifelab.org - set in the western U.S., this site supports outdoor classroom learning.From chicken web cams to zucchini graffiti signs - there is so much to glean from this site.
