FarmStart’s Digging Into
Farming: Planning Your New Farm Business.
This is a 2-day course
for new farmers who have gone through an exploratory stage (completed the
Explorer course or equivalent), have made the decision to farm and are ready to
plan a new farm business. The course introduces participants to the different
elements of starting and managing a farm business and connects participants to
critical resources and advisors that can help along the way. While you will not
prepare a business plan during the course, you will develop a personal New
Farm Action Plan that outlines your next steps in making your farm business a
reality..
Day 1 looks
at business goals, choosing products and services, marketing and production.
Day 2 reviews
human resources, farmland, financing, business start-up, financial management,
including key financial documents (i.e cash flow, income statement, statement
of net worth).

program will be offered four times this fall across the province:

Cost: $25
per person or $35 per farm (2 attendees), includes HST
