Have you ever been to Ecology Park? If not, you should most certainly go & check out all the great gardens & programs going on there. Even if you have been, it's probably time to go again! and again!
On
Sunday, July 15, landscaper Steven Charest will talk about "Ponds and
Water Gardens". Steven is a pond specialist who can help you get
started on creating your own backyard oasis. The workshop is from 2:00- 3:00 PM at the Ecology Park. No charge,
and everyone is welcome. Rain or shine. Meet at the picnic tables
under the rain shelter.
Urban gardens can play a role in providing food and refuge
for honeybees as well as the hundreds of species of non-aggressive native bees.
Join us on Sunday, July 29 as we explore how to create "Pollinator
Gardens" that are beautiful and bee-friendly. The workshop will
include a guided tour of the Ecology Park's recently created Pollinator Garden.
Workshop is from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Free of charge. Meet at the
rain shelter.
And
don't forget that we're running our "Earth Adventures" program
again this summer on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for children aged 5-10
years. $7 per child for each 2-hour program. Space still available!
Call Maeda Welch, our children's program coordinator for further
information or to register at 705-745-3238 ext. 216.
